Gordy Care Essentials is a multi-brand online store bringing together a thoughtfully selected range of care essentials for every stage of life. From baby and child care to adult wellbeing, our focus is on comfort, quality and trust — making it simple for families to find products they can rely on, delivered with care.
Our Story
Gordy Care Essentials was founded by Jaco and Maryn Minns, but the idea behind the business started long before we opened our online store.
Like many families, we have experienced the journey of caring for loved ones ourselves. We have watched our parents and grandparents grow older and experienced first-hand the challenges, responsibilities and practical needs that come with caring for elderly family members.
We also have family close to us whose son lives with cerebral palsy, giving us a personal understanding of the additional care, attention and specialised products that can be needed when looking after someone with special needs.
Through our normal day-to-day lives, we have also regularly encountered people who were concerned about caring for elderly parents, family members with disabilities, children with special needs and loved ones who require additional support in their everyday lives. We saw that many families were not only looking for quality products — they were looking for reliable solutions, convenience and someone they could trust.
These experiences helped shape our vision for Gordy Care Essentials.
We wanted to create more than just another online store. We wanted to build a place where families could find carefully selected care products for their loved ones, whether they are preparing for a new baby, caring for a growing child, supporting someone with special needs or helping an elderly family member maintain comfort and dignity.
The name Gordy is inspired by our hometown Gordon's Bay and reflects the personal, family-focused nature of our business. We believe that caring for others is one of the most important things we can do, and every product we offer is selected with that principle in mind.
